How we sleep drives.
How we feel.
Good sleep is essential for overall health and well-being. Proper breathing during sleep improves oxygen flow, enhancing the depth and quality of rest. This leads to better mood regulation, increased mental alertness, and reduced stress levels. Optimal sleep also supports heart health, helps in regulating blood sugar, and strengthens the immune system. We know that effective breathing can transform your sleep experience, promoting a healthier, more balanced lifestyle.

How we do it
Assessment and diagnosis
We perform a comprehensive evaluation of your airway, muscle function, and medical history. You'll typically leave this session with initial exercises in under an hour.
Diagnosis and planning
Based on your evaluation, we create a personalized in-person or teletherapy treatment plan tailored to your specific challenges.
Treatment
We focus on optimizing your face, lips, tongue, jaw muscle function, muscles of respiration and overall body posture. Typically you are in and out in 30 minutes.
Re-Evaluation
We continually re-evaluate your progress, fine-tune exercises, track improvements and make any necessary adjustments.
Ongoing support
We design and build ongoing exercise plans to maintain optimal function and continuous support for better long lasting results.

Thanks to Kate, my sleep apnea has significantly improved, I’m not using my CPAP at all!!!. She asked me so many questions that I never knew would have anything to do with my sleeping. Her kind approach and expertise made all the difference.

Paula is amazing- she’s efficient and clear in explanations of exercises and rationale- and just personable. Weird exercises feel less odd with her somehow than I’d expect.

Orofacial myofunctional disorders (OMD)
OMD are the result of abnormal muscle patterns in the mouth and throat, impacting essential functions such as speech, sleep, swallowing, and breathing. These disorders often stem from various factors including genetics, childhood habits (e.g., thumb-sucking), tongue-tie, or allergies. Symptoms include challenges in speech, swallowing difficulties, TMJ issues, mouth breathing, and open mouth posture (which can affect facial development negatively). OMD may influence digestion, speech, behavior, and even lead to choking or aspiration. BreatheWorks' interdisciplinary therapy focuses on re-training muscles, fostering symmetry, and enhancing oropharyngeal function. Our comprehensive hands-on approach is effective, as early identification and treatment of OMD can prevent more severe issues in adulthood.
