This is a heads-up for our colleagues interested in treating TMJ disorders. Special courses in diagnosis and therapy are scheduled across the country by Michael Karegeannes, one of the few physical therapists in the United States recognized as a Certified Cervical and Temporomandibular Therapist by the AAOP and PTBCTT.

Participants in these courses will learn the anatomy and biomechanics associated with the disorders, and ways to differentiate myofascial-related pain from internal derangements, and the interrelationships with the cervical spine. Lab time will allow participants to palpate anatomical structures, and learn how to mobilize the TMJ and upper spine. There will be practical discussions on home exercise regimens, appropriate orthotic therapy, lifestyle changes, and potential surgical interventions. The wider focus will be on how to build rapport with the dental community and other healthcare providers for the best possible clinical outcome.

Courses will run in the following cities:

April 15-16, 2023 – Alexandria, VA, USA

May 20-21, 2023 – Stillwater, MN, USA

July 8-9, 2023 – Tulsa, OK, USA

July 20-23, 2023 (Vocal Unloading) – Fox Point, WI, USA

August 5-6, 2023 – Newark, DE, USA

September 9-10, 2023 – Chino, CA, USA
